Detailed User Guide
Background Removal Algorithm
The studio uses an intelligent corner-sampling algorithm: it analyzes pixel colors at the four corners and edges of your image to determine the dominant background color, then makes all pixels within the tolerance threshold transparent. This approach works exceptionally well for product photography with solid white/gray/colored backdrops. For complex backgrounds (people outdoors, busy scenes), increase the tolerance slider or switch to manual mode.
Choosing Tolerance
Tolerance controls how aggressively similar pixels are removed. Lower values (10-25) are precise but may leave edge artifacts on slightly uneven lighting. Higher values (35-60) clean up gradients and soft shadows but risk eating into the subject edges. Start at 30 and adjust based on preview results.
Border Options
The border step adds a solid-colored frame around your cutout image. Use it to create consistent product card layouts. Set size to 0 to disable. The radius option creates rounded corners for a modern app-icon look.
Shadow Effects
The drop shadow adds realistic depth by rendering a blurred dark offset behind your image on a solid background canvas. Increase blur for softer shadows (good for floating products), decrease for sharper contact shadows. Offset X/Y control the shadow direction — positive values push shadow down-right.
Best Use Cases
- E-commerce product photos: remove white studio background → add branded border → shadow on store page
- Team headshots: remove office background → add company-color border → subtle shadow
- App icons and assets: clean background → precise border sizing → polished presentation
- Marketing collateral: batch-process dozens of product shots with identical styling
Performance & Privacy
