Detailed User Guide
Step 1: Upload Your Image
Click the upload area or drag and drop an image. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP. The image loads instantly — nothing is uploaded to any server.
Step 2: Choose Paper Size
Select from common print presets:
- A4 (210×297mm): International standard, most common worldwide
- Letter (8.5×11"): US standard, common in North America
- A5 (148×210mm): Half of A4, for booklets and small flyers
- 4×6" (10×15cm): Standard photo print size
- 5×7" (13×18cm): Larger photo print, common for frames
- Business Card (3.5×2"): Standard US business card size
- Custom: Enter any width and height in inches
Step 3: Set DPI (Dots Per Inch)
DPI determines print quality:
- 72 DPI: Screen resolution, not recommended for printing
- 150 DPI: Acceptable for large-format prints viewed from far away
- 300 DPI: Standard for high-quality photo prints (recommended)
- 600 DPI: Professional-grade printing, very large file sizes
Rule of thumb: For photo prints, always use 300 DPI. For large banners viewed from >3m away, 150 DPI is fine.
Step 4: Download
Click Download to save your print-ready image. PNG is recommended for maximum quality; JPG at quality 92+ is also acceptable for photos.
Best Use Cases
- Photo prints: Use A4 or 4×6" at 300 DPI → JPG
- Business cards: Use Business Card preset at 300 DPI → PNG
- Posters/banners: Custom size at 150 DPI → PNG
- Documents: Use Letter or A4 at 300 DPI → JPG
- Art prints: Use A4/A5 at 600 DPI → PNG (maximum quality)
Pro Tips
- For photo prints at a lab, always export at 300 DPI in sRGB color space
- A4 at 300 DPI = 2480×3508 pixels — make sure your source image is at least that large
- If your source image is smaller than the target DPI size, the result will be upsampled (quality loss) — use our Image Upscaler first
- For inkjet home printing, 300 DPI is more than enough — 150 DPI looks nearly identical
- Save as JPG with quality 92-95 for prints; use PNG only if you need to preserve sharp text or line art
