Detailed User Guide

Step 1: Choose a Template

Click a template thumbnail to load a famous meme template, or drag and drop your own image. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP. The image loads instantly in your browser.

Step 2: Add Your Text

Type your custom top and bottom text. Meme text is automatically rendered in uppercase (the classic meme look), but you can change this in Text Style settings. Each text box supports up to 80 characters.

Step 3: Customize Text Style

Fine-tune your meme text:

  • Font Size (20-120px): Make text larger or smaller to fit your image
  • Outline Width (0-12px): The white outline that makes meme text readable on any background — classic meme style
  • Text Case: UPPERCASE (classic), Title Case, or No Change

Step 4: Download

Click Download Meme to save as PNG (recommended for quality), JPG (smaller file), or WebP (modern compression). Share your meme on social media!

Best Use Cases

  • Social media: Create viral memes for Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit
  • Work presentations: Lighten the mood with a relevant meme slide
  • Group chats: Reply with the perfect reaction meme
  • Blog posts: Illustrate a point with humor
  • Marketing: Create branded memes for social media campaigns

Pro Tips

  • Keep text short — the best memes have minimal text (3-5 words per line)
  • Outline width of 4-8px is the sweet spot for most memes
  • UPPERCASE is the classic meme style — it makes text more readable
  • For Drake and Distracted Boyfriend templates, the top text is usually the "wrong" option and bottom text is the "right" option
  • Download as PNG to preserve sharp edges — JPG can create artifacts around high-contrast text
  • You can upload your own image and use it as a custom meme template

Yes! Click the upload area or drag and drop any image. It will be used as the meme background, and you can add top/bottom text to it.
The default 60px works well for most standard memes. For tall images, increase to 80-100px. For wide images with short text, 40-50px may look better. Always preview before downloading.
This can happen if the canvas is very large and the font size is small. Try increasing the font size slider, or use a taller image template.
You retain full rights to memes you create. Note: some meme templates may be copyrighted images — for commercial use, use your own images or properly licensed templates.
PNG is recommended for maximum quality and sharp text. JPG produces smaller files but may introduce compression artifacts around high-contrast text. WebP is a good modern alternative with excellent compression.
